This is mogami74’s photo blog.

I am trying to publish this blog in English half for non-Japanese people, half for improving my English.

A classic musician said that music is an only universal language. He is wrong. Photography is also. I learned little French but I like the photo of jump over a water taken near Saint- Lazare station.  Regardez!

But how about this blog?   What piece of my photo can speak on behalf of my tongue?  I am no professional photographer.   I just love to take a photo just as I love to listen to music. Play it loud!

For this blog I decided 2 themes I can enjoy (maybe, hopefully, you can).  Hope these photo speak on behalf of me.

Mojica

I hesitated over which spell is the best for this word. First I would like to spell “Mosica” just like “Musica”, German word for music. But in Japan “Mosica” will be pronounced like “mo-C-ca” not “mo-G-ca”. “mo-C-ca” in Japanese language is “if ever” or “perhaps”. No, that’s not good.

This word “Mojica” is not normal word in the dictionary. It’s a title of a short story by Nakajima Atsushi, famous novel writer around 1940.

“Moji” means “letter” “character”, or “alphabet”. “Ca” in this case means “disaster” or “trouble”. “Moji-ca” means “disaster of alphabets”.

By this theme “Mojica” I would like to introduce my photo including Japanese letters and characters. Especially when I find mistakes or funny sentences, I will show it here.

Bicycle

I visited Helsinki on July 2009. It was a happy place (in summer) and we were hanging around. There I took a photo of bicycle. When I took it, I didn’t think It’s impressive…I felt nothing special about it.

Then after a certain period of time, I picked it up from a pile of photos… metaphorical expression, of course. It’s a jpg file.

Strange but somehow I liked this casual snapshot of a bicycle left on the corner in Helsinki.

By this theme “Bicycle”, I would like to introduce my photo with a bicycle (or bicycles).  I have to admit I have no special reason to take a bicycle photos but actually I have no special reason to take anything.  I just liked my bicycle photo in Helsinki and I would like to take photo like that again.

and some more

I sometimes take photo of my lovely daughter, and anything in Tokyo.

I have an old digital camera EX-S2 by CASIO, so I try taking some photo by this.  (Usually, I take photo by Sony NEX-5N)

I hope you enjoy my photos.
